DENTAL

To serve patients in need throughout King and Snohomish County, we depend on a diverse group of volunteers at our fixed dental clinic in Lynnwood. We have 5 full operatories, fully stocked with dental supplies, and operate Monday – Friday. Below, you can find descriptions of the unique roles where volunteers can serve.

We do ask for a one-year commitment from volunteers and provide training specific to the position, including: Patient Confidentiality (HIPAA), Blood-borne Pathogens, and Eaglesoft.

The following positions are our most common needs but not necessarily all of the volunteer opportunities available. If you have a suggestion for something you would like to bring to the clinic, do not hesitate to contact us!

Dentists and Dental Specialists

Dentists and dental specialists can offer a full scope of dental care during clinic hours (with the exception of braces and implants). We coordinate with each provider on their preferences in patient care and their availability. All providers must be licensed and have malpractice insurance.

Free malpractice insurance is available through WHAA. Lahai Health will assist our volunteer providers in obtaining this insurance.

Dental Assistants

As a volunteer dental assistant, you will work alongside qualified and compassionate dentists while also gaining valuable, professional experience. Dental assistants help with sterilization, maintaining equipment and assisting dentists and hygienists. All dental assistants must be Registered Dental Assistants.

Dental Hygienists

Our volunteer dental hygienist work alongside our qualified and compassionate dentists to provide preventive dental care by cleaning teeth, examining patients for signs of oral diseases and educating our patients.

Patient Care Coordinators

Patient Care Coordinators facilitate a positive experience for everyone. They greet patients, ensure patient paperwork is completed correctly, answer phones, and schedule appointments.

Patient Care Coordinators should be organized, detail oriented, friendly, patient, work well with others, have excellent phone skills, and possess basic computer skills. All training is provided; no experience is necessary.

Translators

We serve many patients that have specific language needs. Our translators help at clinic in reception with patient scheduling and medical translation during a patient’s dental appointment.
