To serve patients in need throughout King and Snohomish County, we depend on a diverse group of volunteers at our fixed dental clinic in Lynnwood. We have 5 full operatories, fully stocked with dental supplies, and operate Monday – Friday. Below, you can find descriptions of the unique roles where volunteers can serve.
We do ask for a one-year commitment from volunteers and provide training specific to the position, including: Patient Confidentiality (HIPAA), Blood-borne Pathogens, and Fuse.

The primary function of the Dentist is to provide patient care. The Dentist will also work alongside the Lahai Health dental team to establish quality clinical practices, relationships with dental volunteers and community contacts. Free malpractice insurance is available through WHAA. Lahai Health will assist our volunteer providers in obtaining this insurance.

The primary responsibility of the Dental Assistant is to ensure that the clinical aspect of Lahai Health’s dental clinic runs smoothly and assists the dentist to provide high quality dental care. The dental assistant must be registered as a dental assistant in the state of Washington and have sufficient training.
The primary responsibility of the dental hygienist is to provide direct patient care within the scope of their training as a dental hygienist. They must be licensed in the state of Washington and complete all necessary training. In addition to direct patient care, the dental hygienist should also educate patients on good oral hygiene practices.
The primary responsibility of the Dental Receptionist is to provide front-end office support, ensuring that the administrative aspect of Lahai Health’s dental clinic runs smoothly, so that high quality dental care is assured. This includes greeting patients and checking them in when they are arriving, ensuring the completion of required forms, collecting payment and checking the patient out at the end of the visit, answering the phone, and scheduling patients.
