Like you, my heart was so moved to hear Naomi’s story — she’s one of many women we see here at Lahai Health who are broken and in need of the love and healing Jesus gives. But I think sometimes it’s easy to look at others’ circumstances and feel that brokenness is “something that happens to someone else.” It’s natural to want to feel like we have it all together, that we’re doing just fine.
But when we’re honest, each of us have wounds. Sins. Pride. We each have needs that only Jesus can meet.
I’m reminded of John 8 when the Pharisees bring a woman caught in adultery to Jesus. She expects judgment from him, yet he turns the Pharisees’ pride on its head when he says that he without sin can cast the first stone.
She looks up and Jesus says to her: “Where are your accusers? Didn’t even one of them condemn you?” “No, Lord,” she said. And Jesus said, “Neither do I. Go and sin no more.”
What a blessing to know that Jesus meets us right where we’re at — with love and healing instead of condemnation. May you walk in that awareness of His grace today!
