The Body of Christ, Caring for One Another at Lahai Health

Wednesday, June 1st
I was so blessed one recent Wednesday evening at the clinic, as I watched God work through volunteers and patients! Both volunteers and patients were greeted by Steve and Candace,* a husband and wife team serving as our spiritual care volunteer and receptionist.  They clearly love one another, as well as each person who came… [ Read More ]

Prayer for Lahai Health

Lord, Lahai Health is yours.  You brought it into being, you’ve cared for it, and you’ve provided all that’s needed to provide health care. You provide because you love people so much!   We all are the poor and brokenhearted; we hold a special place in your heart. When you lived among us, you healed.  Now,… [ Read More ]

The Body of Christ, Serving Together

Wednesday, February 9th
On a recent rainy Thursday evening in Snohomish, I had the pleasure of meeting several new Lahai Health volunteers. Most didn’t know one another, but that didn’t last long. As they came in, they immediately introduced themselves. We began the evening with prayer; then volunteers headed off to their place of service: nurses and doctors… [ Read More ]

Mr. Pang, an… [ Read More ]

The second Snohomish pilot was great!  Nine patients received health care, and all were so appreciative. All volunteer positions were staffed, and internet connectivity was almost perfect.  Even the printer and fax machine worked!  Thank you to all who volunteered, prayed, and gave.  Your contributions are making a difference in the lives of so many!… [ Read More ]

Snohomish Pilot #2: January 13, 2011

Wednesday, January 12th
This week we’re making final preparations for our second pilot clinic in Snohomish.  Volunteers are ready, the mobile clinic is stocked, and changes in our technology have been made.  Hopefully, the technology changes mean internet connectivity is improved.  We’ll find out tomorrow.  Thank you, Carl, Tycen, and Kevin, for all your work. With all these pieces in… [ Read More ]

BUILDING UP, TEARING DOWN

Wednesday, January 5th
Snohomish Volunteers  Have you noticed all the stuff that can divide us?  You and I may come from different racial/ethnic backgrounds or have divergent political views.  Perhaps I have greater (or lesser) financial resources than you.  Or maybe you have more education than me.  The list goes on... Diversity can create walls between me and… [ Read More ]
